Tchoukball? Say ‘chukeball’.
What exactly is this tchoukball?
In short, it is a - 7-a-side non-contact sports where players can score at both sides using a ball against a 90cm-by-90cm trampoline-like net (aka frame) - these frames are placed at both ends of the court (which is slightly larger than a basketball court) within a semi-circle (aka forbidden zone) - each player can take a maximum of 3 steps before he/she has to pass - each team is given a maximum of 3 passes before the ball has to be shot at the frame - opponents are not allowed to intercept when a player is about to shoot - when passing, the ball cannot be taken away from players until they completed their pass or shot
Here’s the tricky part: for the shot to be counted as a score, the ball has to rebound off the net and land outside the forbidden zone. The defending team earns a point if their opponent (who is attacking) misses the frame, or if the ball rebounds into the forbidden zone. However, other than being able to throw and catch a ball, other skills are not much needed.
