 Leading The Way
First it was gold in the girls' doubles.

Then it was gold in the girls' team (pictured) event. In both events, bowlers Bernice Lim and New Hui Fen played their part as they led the way for Singapore at the Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Kuwait.

Strong Performances
There was more success as Bernice's strong performances also earned her the all-events title, bringing our total number of gold medals to three. Her 4,242 pinfalls gave her an impressive average of 235.6. In the doubles, she and Hui Fen had 2,889 pinfalls over six games as they edged out opponents from South Korea (2,590) and Malaysia (2,587).

Combining Well
In the team event, they combined well with Gina Lim and Krishna Darshini to score 5,150 pinfalls, just ahead of Japan (5142) and South Korea (5,117). The Singapore boys team comprising Basil Low, Christopher Hwang, Justin Lim and Benjamin Lim also did well; they were placed fifth in the team event.
